Baptism
Baptism is a time of joy as the Catholic Community welcomes a new member to the Church. At Baptism we become a child of God, united with Jesus at His death and resurrection, as we die to sin and rise again, washed clean through the waters of Baptism. We are changed forever by the experience.
Baptism preparation retreats for expectant parents are held every other month in the lower church. Expecting parents and sponsors who have not attended this retreat in the last two years are encouraged to attend. The class will help participants better understand the Sacrament of Baptism.
Baptism Retreats: 6:00pm in the Church.
See the Parish calendar for dates. Or call the office.
Please contact the parish office to register.
Baptism Celebrations are scheduled by the parish office.
Special arrangements are required 15 days ahead of time for baptisms during weekend masses or on Sundays after mass.
Sponsor/Godparent Guidelines:
The sponsor(s) must be 16 years of age and must be a Catholic who has been confirmed and has already received their First Holy Communion and who leads a life of faith in keeping with the function to be taken on. Only one sponsor is required, and the maximum number of sponsors is two, in which case they must BOTH be Catholics, and one male and one female. A baptized person, who is not Catholic, can participate with a Catholic sponsor, but only participate as a witness to the baptism.
If seeking Baptism for a child over 7 years old or an adult, please contact the parish office for assistance.
